Residency and research opportunities

Two routes into the department: the national residency placement process, and direct enquiry for visiting research.

Specialty training

Medical Genetics Residency

Medical Genetics residency positions are filled through Türkiye’s national Medical Specialty Examination (TUS) and the national placement process.

The department does not operate a separate departmental application route for residency, and cannot place, reserve or prioritise candidates outside the national system. Prospective applicants should follow the official national examination and placement calendar.

Candidates who are already placed with the department, or who wish to understand the training programme before making a preference, are welcome to read the Education & Training section, which sets out the four-year curriculum, laboratory rotations, structured teaching and research training.

Research visit

Visiting Researchers

Prospective visiting researchers are encouraged to contact the Department Lead / Principal Investigator directly regarding potential research opportunities.

An effective enquiry is short and specific. It helps to state your current position and institution, the research area you wish to work in and why it fits one of the department’s two flagship programmes, the period you have in mind, and whether you hold or are applying for external funding.

Enquiries should be sent to the Department Lead / Principal Investigator; see Contact.

What this page is not

There is no departmental application form for residency, and no mechanism on this site to register interest, upload documents or submit patient or genomic data. Nothing on this page constitutes an offer of a position, a salary, funding or formal fellowship status.

Enquiries about clinical referrals or individual patient care should not be sent through this route; see Contact.
